I don't want to miss out on the 250 deal either if I can help it!

I've been able to work out everyday this week by myself thus far, it's not the same but it works! =) I want to try out Yoga, maybe I'll have to join you guys for a class!Kristin - GettingItTogetherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09557128057559481299noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7431871045791647642.post-59913352632858080652010-10-19T16:41:49.599-04:002010-10-19T16:41:49.599-04:00It might make sense to do 3 days a week for the fi...It might make sense to do 3 days a week for the first few weeks of the next session (do the Lincoln Park days so you're not on the pier) and try something else. I just know for myself how easy it is to go backwards even with the best intentions. :) You're also welcome to try out pilates with me www.projectpilates.com and sometime soon Christina and I are going to Devotion Yoga because we have a groupon. Neither is as cardio but still options where you have a buddy until bootcamp is indoors.Francescahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03721451577696250930noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7431871045791647642.post-14115061490041081112010-10-19T16:35:07.416-04:002010-10-19T16:35:07.416-04:00Oh now, cold and wet is a whole different story......Oh now, cold and wet is a whole different story... :) That's why I actually have to blow dry my hair before I leave the house in the winter. :)Francescahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03721451577696250930noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7431871045791647642.post-28845488741009669592010-10-19T15:10:28.702-04:002010-10-19T15:10:28.702-04:00I totally forgot to add, W's email said he wou...I totally forgot to add, W's email said he would take it indoors "mid-november through April 2011".Kristin - GettingItTogetherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09557128057559481299noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7431871045791647642.post-67886501606633407092010-10-19T15:07:24.811-04:002010-10-19T15:07:24.811-04:00LOL! Love your soapbox Francesca =)
I should hav...LOL! Love your soapbox Francesca =)

I should have mentioned in my blog that I get very bad chest pains (angina) when breathing cold air. So yes, it is very difficult for me to do it while also gasping for breath when running etc.

How awesome is your dad? I'm sort of jealous. That is amazing! I agree with you, the reason I fell in love w/ boot camp is obvz because of all of you and it helps to just go and get it done for the day, AND during the process I enjoy all of you SO much! That is what is making me extremely bummed.

Like you said, I have a lot to figure out. I may even try it for a week and see how it is. However, when I went that Monday night, in the cold sleeting rain...all I know is the next morning I woke up with pain EVERYWHERE.

Maybe it is just a matter of wearing clothing that will protect me better. Although I do not like the thought of piling on a ton of clothes!

ps. the cold isn't an excuse. I truly don't believe in them. If I get chest pains, I get them. If I wake up sick from it and my legs, hands, arms, entire body are stiff because of it, something is wrong. And the wind down on the pier does NOT help when I'm already running.Kristin - GettingItTogetherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09557128057559481299noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7431871045791647642.post-87667241038924985312010-10-19T14:44:44.353-04:002010-10-19T14:44:44.353-04:00Exercising outside when its cold is not the cause ...Exercising outside when its cold is not the cause of being sick - you have to dress appropriately which is what the article you linked to said. This one says basically the same thing http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/fitness/HQ01681 only it includes this statement " Experts say that almost everyone can exercise safely in the cold, including people with asthma and heart problems. If you have health concerns, get your doctor's OK." And as much as I might feel like it, it is not yet cold enough outside to worry about hypothermia.

That said - you have to do what you know what you will stick with. For me its boot camp even though it costs more than a gym, I know that getting up every morning and doing it that I'm done for the day and I get pushed harder than I do on my own. For me it works, whereas when I tried to be a night time exerciser, I would make excuses or get tired during the day and then be too reved up to sleep. My dad on the other hand who is a runner (I mean he literally celebrated his 50th birthday a few weeks ago by running a half marathon in 1:47) thinks that me getting up early to exercise is ridiculous. He sticks with his running routine.

Basically don't use the cold as an excuse - its hard I hate the cold too - trust me and my southerness on that one. But I know I'd rather do it with all my bootcamp peeps than try to do it by myself so I'll slap a few more layers on. I also think that Daris means the middle of the next session not the middle of November, but you might want to ask him before you decide one way or the other.

Ok, stepping off my soap box now. :) I'm glad you liked Gina's site. I've got just about every person I know who's trying to cook healthy using it.Francescahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03721451577696250930noreply@blogger.com
